Spooky horror hit Content Warning has managed to reach a pretty impressive sales number within its first two months on release, publisher Landfall has revealed.
In a message on X (formerly Twitter), Landfall says Content Warning has hit 2.2 million sales in two months, which means that more than 8.8 million players currently own the game on Steam.
If you're wondering how the math checks out, Content Warning was available for free during the first 24 hours of its release, and 6.6 million players redeemed the game during that period (including me, although to my shame I'm yet to play it).

Following on from Content Warning's free period, it maintained a pretty solid level of player interest, selling 100,000 copies within a 24-hour period and going on to hit the 700,000 mark in a week.
The game was originally released on April Fools' Day, but unlike many of the other "announcements" on that fated day, Content Warning isn't a joke; it's a proper game you can actually play, and it looks like many people have done just that.
In case you missed out on the fun the first time around, Content Warning is a game in which you and your friends explore spooky locations in order to try and "go viral", as the kids say.
If you've played Lethal Company, you're in similar territory with Content Warning, although instead of avoiding monsters, you'll be trying to film them as much as possible (without running out of oxygen, naturally).
The more you film, the more viral you'll go. If only things worked that way in real life, eh? You can use your ad revenue in order to upgrade your gear and film even more spooky stuff.
Content Warning is available right now on PC via Steam. Make sure to check it out if you're looking for Lethal Company-style shenanigans in a wackier setting.
