HoYoverse has announced the Genshin Impact 4.5 release date, with the new version bringing a business management minigame, a brand new five-star character, and more.
The last major Genshin Impact update brought in the New Year in style, but now it's back to business as usual, quite literally. Version 4.5 will add a new event called Alchemical Ascension, in which you'll help Lisa and the Knights of Favonius to manage a potion shop.
You'll need to cultivate your own ingredients, brew the potions yourself, and oversee the sales process as well. As you earn money, you'll expand your capabilities, and you'll also meet some "familiar faces" along the way.
Other minigames being introduced in Genshin Impact 4.5 include Feline Fortress Furrdyssey, in which you can indeed pet the cat, and Rolling Crossfire, a cannon-firing game that will test your aim.
Of course, you can also look forward to a new five-star character in Genshin Impact 4.5, and it's Fontaine's very own Chioriya Boutique owner Chiori.
She's a sword-wielding Geo user, and she can summon her automaton friend Tamoto to deal damage for her. She's also got access to a nifty movement speed buff for your party.
Chiori will appear in Genshin Impact 4.5's first half alongside Arataki Itto, while the second half will see reruns of Neuvillette and Kaedehara Kazuha.
Alongside these characters, a new Chronicled Wish event will begin in version 4.5, offering the chance to grab 5-star characters like Albedo, Mona, and Jean, plus 5-star weapons like Wolf's Gravestone and Hunter's Path.
HoYoverse says you'll be able to "chart a course towards [your] desired 5-star character or weapon", and that the second 5-star item you get will be the one you want, assuming you didn't get it the first time around. You can read more about the Chronicled Wish system here.
If you're just starting out in Genshin Impact, version 4.5 will bring some optimizations to make your experience a little easier, too. You'll be able to get tips on how to enhance your characters, ascend their weapons, and more, and the Talent window will now show upgrade materials as well.
Since version 4.5 was, as usual, announced via a Special Program, there are some new redemption codes up for grabs as well. You've only got a few hours to input these, so make 'em count!
