The Slitterhead release date appears to have been leaked ahead of the long-awaited horror project's gameplay reveal during the Summer Game Fest showcase later today.

Earlier this week, SGF host Geoff Keighley confirmed that Slitterhead would feature during the showcase, but thanks to developer Bokeh Game Studio (seemingly) mistakenly uploading a trailer earlier today, we now know when it's launching.

If that trailer is to be believed, then the Slitterhead release date is November 8th. The game will arrive on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Series X|S, but an Xbox One release doesn't seem to be lined up.

Slitterhead is coming your way in November, apparently.

The trailer, which you can still see right here via Gematsu, shows off some of Slitterhead's hack-and-slash-inspired gameplay, which looks to blend survival horror-style atmosphere with a more action-oriented combat focus.

As befits a project led by Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama, we get to see some pretty horrific imagery in the trailer, including characters with caved-in eye sockets and horrific spindly monsters.

Slitterhead's core gameplay conceit appears to be the ability to possess any number of people walking around the game's city environment, with those characters subsequently gaining the ability to fight against monsters using weapons apparently conjured from blood.

It also looks like multiple characters will be able to fight together, although whether this represents a multiplayer component or simply an AI companion system remains to be seen.

Slitterhead is the newest project from Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama. It's being developed under the auspices of his new company Bokeh Game Studio.

Officially revealed back in 2021, Slitterhead also boasts the involvement of Silent Hill alumnus Akira Toriyama, who's working on music for the game. Other Bokeh staffers with industry history include The Last Guardian producer Kazunobu Sato and Gravity Rush producer Junya Okura.

Assuming the aforementioned trailer is accurate, Slitterhead launches on November 8th. Stay tuned for more.
