Aspyr has provided an official response to overwhelming criticism of the PC version of Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection.
Since the game's release yesterday, PC players have been complaining about various issues pertaining to the game's online component, including a lack of servers available to join, high ping, and stuttering, among other things.
Earlier today, developer Aspyr responded to the criticisms via its official support page, promising to continue working on the game until its network infrastructure is fit for purpose.

In its response, Aspyr thanks players for their "overwhelming support and feedback" for Battlefront Classic Collection, which feels like a slight misreading of the situation.
Following that, Aspyr says that at the game's launch, the studio faced "critical errors with [its] network infrastructure", leading to problems like "incredibly high ping, matchmaking errors, crashes, and servers not appearing in the browser".
Aspyr says it's been working since launch to correct these issues, and that it will continue this work "until [its] network infrastructure is stabilized to prevent further outages".
The studio invites any players who experience bugs or errors to report them via the support team's Request Form, which you can find here (although you'll need to log into an Aspyr account first).

Aspyr's response might not seem like much given the scope of players' disappointment with the collection, but at least the studio has acknowledged the issue and appears to be working to fix it, I suppose.
If you're not familiar with Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection, it is, as the name suggests, a collection that contains remastered versions of the first two Star Wars: Battlefront games.
The collection promises 64-player online support, revamped visuals, and smoother frame rates, although these aren't remakes, so don't expect anything too crazy in terms of visual or gameplay overhauls.
You can grab Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection right now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. You can check out our review of the collection here (and bear in mind that we didn't get a chance to test out the online component of the multiplayer modes).
